Students excel at district orchestra

On Dec. 12, 2015 many HHS
band students woke up at the
crack of dawn to audition for
district band at Douglas Freeman
High School. Those who have made
the district band will perform
and work with students from all
over the Virginia Band and
Orchestra Association’s District
One at HHS on Feb. 4 through the 6.
The following students have made
district symphonic band and will
represent HHS in the symphonic
(top) band: Sarah Castle, Stephanie
Baylor, Sean Talbot, Josie Garner,
Jasmyne Fowler, Jessica Deutch,
Georgia Geen, Sophie Harrison,
Jarett Torok, Isaiah Mathews,
Joseph Laux, Luke Chesley, Leah
Dandridge, Jake Thomas, Jacob Adams
and Jonathan Waller. Within those
students the following are eligible
to audition for all-state band:
Sarah Castle, Sean Talbot, Josie
Garner, Jasmyne Fowler, Joseph Laux,
Jacob Adams and Jonathan Waller.
The following student have made the
district concert band and will
represent HHS in the same event
as part of the concert band: Scott
Strobel, Tiffany Marston, Lucy Geen,
Allie Dockum, Kevin Dandridge, Erica
Smith, Matthew Holloman, Jonathan
Falls, Kayley Turner, and
Callie Robinson.
