Athletes of the Month

person 1

Ward Wilkinson

The Hawks golf team had one of
their best seasons to date this year
with a 19-3-1 record. The team
knocked off Atlee for the first time
in many years and they did it twice.
Much of their success can be pinned
to the play of, junior Ward Wilkinson,
the team number one.
The scores he consistently put up
this year enabled him to achieve the
honor of medalist, the award for being
the lowest score of the day, six
times.
“I was consistent because of a lot
of practice and the support of my
coach and teammates,” Wilkinson
said.
Wilkinson awarded himself a trip
to the Regional tournament and a
spot on First Team All-Conference,
a feat that he hopes to repeat next
year.

Person 2

Lauren Didlake

Sophomore Lauren Didlake first
picked up a field hockey stick this
past summer, and now is a starting
midfielder on the field hockey team
at Hanover. Didlake’s hard work
and dedication has catapulted her
into one of the stars on the team.
“I chose to pursue field hockey
because I wanted to try something
new since I’m not able to play soccer
due to all of my concussions. I
spent the summer practicing every
day and receiving help from Abby
Bellows, who now plays in college,”
Didlake said.
So far this year, Didlake has three
goals and nine assists, helping the
team to an 8 and 3 record.
