Carter Unger

Freshman Carter Unger has been
a gymnastics enthusiast since she
was three, and now she’s a starter
of the Hanover Hawks gymnastics
team. The dedication has helped her
reach greatness.
“My goal this year is to make it
to regionals and put my team in the
best position to win,” Unger said.
In only her third meet of the
2015 season, Unger finished 6th all
around, 2nd on beam and 5th on
vault. In her fourth meet, she finished
3rd on beam and 5th on vault.
“The best feeling in gymnastics
is when you land a perfect routine,”
Unger said. As conferences are soon
approaching, she will be working
hard to polish her routines if she
wants to place.

Alan Dabney

Alan Dabney

Junior Alan Dabney has exceeded
everybody’s expectations this year
on the Hawks basketball team. Dabney
at 6- foot -4 plays the role as a
small forward for the Hawks. His
first year as a starter, Dabney averages
22 points a game and leads the
conference in scoring. Dabney’s
huge double-double with 40 points
and 20 rebounds at Kings Fork will
go down as one of the most remarkable
performances in Hanover High
School history.
“It felt good, my shot was falling
and my teammates had trust in
me to keep scoring, so I did what I
do best. Even though I put up good
numbers, my team came up short in
the loss,” were Dabney’s words on
his game against Kings Fork.
