Summer is awesome for many reasons: number one, being no school! To go along with vacations, camps, and pool time are music concerts. Yes, tickets can be pretty pricey but if you know where to go and you don’t mind not being in the front row, you can find a good price for your budget.
Ticket Master is my go-to for anything but if you are willing to take the gamble you can by tickets at the venue entrance from people who are selling them.
The closest places to Hanover that usually host concerts are the Washington Verizon Center, the Richmond Coliseum, and the Virginia Beach Amphitheatre also known as Farm Bureau Live. Also, the Norva and the National host some as well.
This summer Kid Rock, Heart and Brad Paisley are turning up near northern Virginia in Bristow and Vienna. Virginia Beach will be hosting 30H!3, Gavin Degraw, Train, Tim McGraw and country beloved singer Blake Shelton. Skillet, a band that praises God in music without making you fall asleep, is going to be at our very own Kings Dominion on June 28, 2013.
If you’re on the wilder side of music and you like to bang your head a little, you can join thousands for Vans Warped Tour. The Warped Tour travels all over the world and will be in Virginia Beach, July 9th. It includes all of our favorite bands in one place like Sleeping with Sirens, 3OH!3, and Bowling for Soup.
I strongly suggest under the age of 18 attendees to go in a group and to be open to the idea of taking a parent; it can be a rough crowd. Before you completely brush these bands to the side my advice would be to not judge a book by its cover. A lot of their music is about choosing a lifestyle above the influenece, and speaking out to teenagers who have a rough life.
If you live for music, love when you can feel the beat and have fantasies about seeing your favorite singer in person (even from a distance), then buy tickets for one of these talented artists. Your fantasy isn’t that far away with so many artists and bands swinging through Virginia. This summer will be packed with musical talent, and with so many venues, a trip to see any concert is easily accessible.
